FOOTCARE

Footcare is an important part of keeping us healthy, pain free & active. So many problems that we suffer, & not just in the foot, could be prevented through regular attention.

The following advice concerns general care of the feet.

The first step to good footcare is to remove the hard skin for your feet. You may use a pumice stone or one of the many creams available from your local Chemist.

Before using the pumice stone you need to soak your feet in slightly hot water to soften the dead skin to make it much easier to remove. If using a cream, apply generously (or as directed) then rub skin gently using a foot file and rinse off the flaky residue.

Above all you should always wear the correct fitting shoes and if you experience any pain or see any unusual markings on your feet immediatley seek advise from your Podiatrist.

Private health insurance generally covers a percentage of the cost of Podiatric consultations. Podiatric consultations are also covered under Workcover, 3rd Party Insurance & Veterans Affairs.
